Job Description Job Description 1. Education: ARRT eligible
candidates that have completed a cardiovascular program /
internship or 1-2 years of radiology experience. Must be a
registered member of the America Registry of Radiologic
Technologists. Must be CPR certified. Must maintain certification
while employed at UNITY HEALTH. 2. Training and Experience: Have a
minimum of one year invasive vascular procedural experience or
demonstrate knowledge and ability in cardiovascular procedures; or
have a minimum of two years experience as a registered Radiologic
Technologist and have demonstrated the ability and desire to assist
with these procedures. 3. Job Knowledge: Must be familiar with
angiographic and cardiac catheterization procedures. The
Angiography Technologist must be able to demonstrate knowledge and
skills necessary to assist with angiographic procedures/care
appropriate to the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients served
in this department. The Angiography Technologist must demonstrate
knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life
span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the
patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed
to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her
age-specific needs. 4. Safety Sensitive: YES In the interest of
protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and
guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety
sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in
which impaired performance could result in harm to the health
and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively
engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a
valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a
“safety sensitive” position. DESCRIPTION: Under the general
direction of the Physician who assists with all aspects of
angiographic and cardiac catheterization procedures. Assists in
other areas of the Department/Hospital as needed. Takes after hours
call. Performs radiographic imaging of body parts as pertinent to
the angiographic or cardiac procedure being performed. Physical
Effort: Good physical health is required. Must be able to work long
hours standing and wearing lead protective aprons as necessary.
Will be working in an area of ionizing radiation. Will work with
patients with communicable diseases and may be exposed to blood and
body fluids. Extensive amounts of assisting, pushing, pulling and
lifting patients is required. Worker must adjust to performing
routine, repetitive tasks without specific supervision. Mental
Effort: Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail
with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20-45 minutes at
a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to the
concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks given to
self and others over long periods of time. Must be able to
communicate verbally, using advanced level of vocabulary.
Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with
patients and families of all age groups, all radiology/nuclear
medicine staff, referring physicians and residents, nursing
scheduling, patient escort services and administration who may or
may not be under physical and/or emotional stress. Frequent
interaction with personnel in other departments and with vendors.
The ability to maintain confidential information.
