Job Description Job Description 1. Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or appropriate training in vascular technology and sonography. Registered preferred or registry eligible per ARDMS or CCI requirements. ACLS certification required. 2. Training and Experience: Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, associates, patients and visitors. . 3. Job Knowledge: Delivers appropriate care to patients from neonatal through geriatrics with regards to age specific considerations (see attached sheet). 4. Safety Sensitive: YES In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position. DESCRIPTION: A registered or registry eligible sonographer who is responsible for vascular diagnostic exams including ultrasounds in any area of the hospital including special care units. May be assigned supervisory responsibilities when adequately prepared. Participate in rotating call schedule for nights and weekends. Must be willing to learn echocardiogram procedures as required. Physical Effort: Maintains good physical well being. Job responsibilities require a great deal of walking, bending, pushing heavy equipment and wheel chairs, and lifting patients. Mental Effort: Maintains good emotional well being. Possess the ability to work under stress.
