Job Description:

resources, which has broadened our portfolio to include newsprint,
wood chips, and renewable energy. Due to our continued expansion,
we are seeking a Procurement Forester to enhance our forestry
procurement strategy and ensure sustainable forest management
practices are met. Identify and negotiate procurement of timber
from public and private lands to meet operational demands. Develop
and maintain relationships with local landowners, government
agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with
all applicable forestry laws, sustainable practices, and
certification schemes. Conduct field inspections and assessments of
forest resources to determine timber quality and volume.
Collaborate with forestry management to develop and implement
effective and sustainable forestry plans. Monitor forest harvesting
activities to ensure compliance with environmental and company
standards. Analyze market trends and contribute to pricing and
budgeting decisions. Prepare detailed reports on timber procurement
activities, forest inventory status, and sustainability efforts.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Thorough knowledge of
forestry industry practices and sustainable management. Ability to
perform forest inventory and other quantitative measurements.
Proficiency in GIS and forest management software. Excellent
analytical and problem-solving skills. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Forester
status from the Society of American Foresters (SAF) is preferred.
Professional logging manager (PLM) certification is
advantageous.
