Primary duty station will be in North Little Rock, level 1 facility. Could also be assigned to Little Rock/CBOC as needed. Responsible for evaluating patients, establishing treatment plans for inpatient/outpatient setting. Includes a 15 bed CARF rehab ward, 120 bed Community Living Center (CLC) and general outpatients. [ "OT is responsible for evaluating patients and establishing treatment plans in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. Assigned with Occupational Specialists both in/outpatient care, including wounds, hand specialty, driving , lymphedema, neuro rehab, with over 30 OTs for mentoring and professional collaboration. Includes a 15 bed CARF accredited rehabilitation ward, 120 bed Community Living Center (CLC) patients and general outpatients. The duties of the Occupational Therapist in the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Services include but are not limited to:\nClinical:\n1. Evaluates patients using standard and non-standard techniques to identify specific occupational therapy treatment problems.\n2. Performs tests and measurements of the patient's condition and interprets results of tests and measurements of the patient's condition for use in establishing a diagnosis within the scope of occupational therapy, developing the treatment plan, modifying the treatment plan, and evaluating results of treatment.\n3. Establishes short term and long-term occupational therapy clinically appropriate patient treatment goals and implements treatment programs to meet these goals.\n4. Frequently assesses the patient's progress toward occupational therapy treatment goals; modifying the goals and treatment program as indicated.\n5. Monitors patient's emergency medical needs; intolerance to treatment; changes in patient's physical/mental status; and takes appropriate action as necessary.\n6. Documents and otherwise communicates results of evaluation and treatment according to OT Clinical Competency Review Criteria.\n7. Participates and actively represents the service as a liaison in ward rounds, patient planning conferences, discharge planning conferences, specialty clinics, and assigned medical or departmental meetings.\n8. Maintains current knowledge and understanding of all patient care occupational therapy treatment equipment in the department, it's use and contraindications.\n9. Recognizes diversity among patients/staff and demonstrates sensitivity to cultural, age, gender, and people with disabilities.\n10. Provides patient care/support that is appropriate to the cognitive, physical and emotional needs of the patient group served.\n11. Recommends referral of patients to other services or programs when appropriate.\n12. Provides instruction in the care and use of assistive devices, adaptive equipment, orthotic devices and prosthesis.\n13. Utilizes appropriate physical therapy modalities by the use of exercise, massage, heat or cold, air, light, water, electricity or sound for the purpose of correcting or alleviating any physical or mental condition, or the purpose of preventing the development of any physical or mental disability, or the performance of tests of neuromuscular function as an aid to the diagnosis or treatment. Administrative:\n1. Maintains and promptly submits statistical reports as scheduled.\n2. Identifies and corrects, if possible, any safety hazards and reports equipment malfunctions.\n3. Maintains supplies at effective level for treatment and ensures their appropriate use.\n4. Maintains knowledge of and acts within the current policies and procedures of the department and hospital.\n5. Maintains effective communication with patients, families and other health care professionals to enhance patient care.\n6. Recommends additions to departmental equipment and occupational therapy treatment programs.\n7. Supervises and guides non-licensed staff involved in occupational therapy treatment to maintain overall responsibility of treatment.\n8. Manages effective use of time/schedules for occupational therapy.\n9. Demonstrates cost containment and efficiency in all aspects of the position. Develops and initiates cost containment strategies.\n10. Assures that documentation supports ICD-10 and CPT codes utilized to capture workload and for billing purposes. Education:\n1. Attends and participates in seminars, workshops, in-service training meetings, departmental meetings, and lectures to increase and maintain personal knowledge and job-related skills.\n2. Is a resource person and provides training for other health care professionals, or student affiliates in the department.\n3. Provides clinical oversight of certified occupational therapy assistants as well as occupational therapy students and certified occupational\ntherapy assistant students involved In occupational! therapy treatment to maintain overall responsibility of treatment.\n4. Serves on committees at the facility, in the community, or in professional associations.\n5. Instructs professional medical residents and health care students as requested.\n6. Conducts in-service progress for other disciplines as requested.\n7. Develops patient/family teaching and treatment material. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some weekends and holidays intermittent. May travel to surrounding CBOCs 25% of the time or less.\nFinancial Disclosure Report: Not required" ]
