As a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Lead
Therapist provides direct patient care including: completion of
social assessments, formulation of treatment plans, provision of
individual, group, family, and special focus group psychotherapy,
and completion of discharge and continuing care plans. The Lead
Therapist interfaces with referral sources, community service
agencies, businesses, employers, and healthcare facilities; ensures
compliance for quality patient care and compliance with Joint
Commission standards, State Health Department requirements, and all
other regulatory standards. In addition, the Lead Therapist assists
in daily management of the Social Services Department in
conjunction and by assignment with the Director of Clinical
Services. These duties may include, but are not limited to,
monitoring of provision of active treatment across the
organization, data collection and analysis, monitoring
effectiveness and efficiency of Treatment Team Meetings, and
scheduling of unit assignments for all staff in the Social Services

Licenses or Certifications: Possess current Arkansas licensure
in specialty, be in good standing with licensing board, and must
maintain licensure as a condition of employment. LCSW preferred.
CPI and CPR are required (offered onsite) and must maintain as a
condition of employment.
Total education, vocational training and experience: Minimum of
a Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling. Must
have documented experience working in the field.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills to
communicate in a clear, concise manner with patients, families,
physicians, referral sources, hospital staff, and the public, as
well as provide accurate and timely documentation and
- Knowledge of the physical, emotional, and cultural
characteristics of patients who have psychiatric, and chemical
dependency, and behavioral problems.
- Ability to continually identify and assess the emotional needs
of the patient, and to measure the patient's progress.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Must be able to interact with patients, physicians, and
hospital personnel in a professional manner.
- Good organizational and time management skills are required to
cope in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions,
complex schedules, and fluctuations in census.
- Physical demands include daily sitting, standing, walking, and
movement, as well as meeting patients and families.
