SUMMARY#OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position) Responsible for supervision and food production in the bake shop operation, recommends and selects menu items for the bake shop, creates and bakes top quality pastries, desserts and baked goods for patients, cafeteria, doctor#s dining room and catering, assists the Corporate Executive Chef with training of bakery skills to system staff. Maintains compentency and performance expectations. Maintains the highest sanitation, safety and infection control standards. Uses resources properly - equipment, supplies and employee time. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience Educational background necessary to be able to read and follow written instructions including recipes and worksheets; math skills necessary to measure ingredients using fractions and decimals. The Pastry Chef position requires creativity, strong baking and pastry fundamentals and a high level of prefessionalism. Minimum experience of 3-5 years in quality baking and certified working Pastry Chef Certification or a combination of formal training/schooling. Working Pastry Chef Certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment. Serv Safe Certified required within 6 months of hire date.
