Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist Russellville, AR Hourly / Full-Time About the Role: The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping the workforce of our organization by identifying, attracting, and integrating top talent. This position is responsible for managing the entire recruitment process, from job posting to candidate selection, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring managers. The specialist will also develop and implement effective onboarding programs that facilitate new hires' transition into the company culture and their respective roles. By fostering strong relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders, the specialist will contribute to building a diverse and skilled workforce. Ultimately, this role aims to enhance employee retention and satisfaction through effective recruitment and onboarding strategies. Summary: The Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist is responsible for coordinating full-cycle recruitment and seamless onboarding of new employees. This includes sourcing candidates, coordinating with hiring managers, and guiding new hires through their first days with the company. The role requires attention to compliance requirements (DOT, background checks, etc.), proactive communication, and a high level of organization to ensure a positive candidate and new hire experience. Essential functions : Identify, attract, and screen candidates to meet hiring needs across roles, including drivers, laborers, operators, and office personnel. Collaborate with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, interview plans, and hiring strategies. Utilize social media, job boards, and networking platforms to source and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates. Conduct preliminary applicant screenings and schedule interviews with hiring teams. Maintain applicant tracking systems and internal databases with up-to-date candidate status. Follow up with applicants regarding their status and next steps. Manage all pre-employment processes, including background checks, drug screening, reference checks, and internal documentation. Draft and issue offer letters and coordinate compensation approvals. Complete position requisition forms and initiate IT/user access requests. Conduct comprehensive new hire onboarding sessions and ensure new hire documentation is processed in payroll and HRIS systems. Assist in the preparation of HR reports such as open positions and hire summaries. Competency : Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be detail-oriented, accurate, flexible, dependable, and a team player. Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Ability to operate general office equipment. Work environment : Position requires the employee to work in the Russellville, AR office. Physical demands : The position primarily requires sitting, typing, and viewing a computer. Other less frequent physical demands include bending and lifting. Travel : No travel is expected with this position. Preferred education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a similar field. Two years of administrative assistant experience preferred. Experience in transportation, logistics, or industrial environments is a plus. Skills: The required skills for this role include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building rapport with candidates and collaborating with hiring managers. Organizational skills are vital for managing multiple recruitment processes simultaneously and ensuring timely follow-ups. Attention to detail is necessary for accurately screening resumes and maintaining recruitment records. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with HR software, enhance efficiency in tracking candidates and streamlining the onboarding process. Overall, a combination of these skills will enable the specialist to effectively contribute to the organization's talent acquisition and retention efforts.
