Job Description Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Manufacturing Technician will join a flexible workforce designed to perform a variety of tasks across multiple work functions. Under general supervision, the technician will be involved in assembly, disassembly, testing, processing, packaging, consolidation, storage, inspection, labeling, and shipping of chemical materials and hazardous waste. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a focus on safety and quality. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Work with engineers to set up mechanical laboratory tests, record data, and enter results into lab computers. Assemble manifolds, valves, containers, and assist in setting up instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Maintain laboratory data using Microsoft Excel. Perform acid washing of Teflon and stainless steel valves and vessels. Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, and conduct helium leak checks on stainless steel container vessels and valves. Wash, dry, and inspect quartz and borosilicate glassware. Work in cleanroom environments, maintaining integrity and housekeeping standards. Apply PVC coating to quartz and borosilicate glassware. Conduct quality inspections and package chemicals into quartz or stainless steel vessels. Operate forklifts to unload trucks and move materials. Assist with inorganic and organic chemical consolidation and hazardous waste consolidation. Decontaminate stainless steel and quartz vessels, completing required documentation. Perform inventory control and cycle counting. Modify and repair Pyrex and quartz glassware. Document all stages of customer returned items in computer systems. Participate in Staple Ops Dent Collection and Review process. Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organized work environment. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent required. General industry experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment (equivalent education or military experience may be substituted). Strong mechanical background and demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and technical drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Ability to wear full-face air-purifying respirator and other PPE. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks required by the job. Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. WORKING CONDITIONS Frequent lifting/carrying of 25–35 lbs; occasional lifting/carrying of 36–50 lbs. Exposure to solvents and chemicals; respirator use may be required. Work performed in laboratory, cleanroom, and warehouse environments. Requires adherence to strict safety, ergonomic, and quality standards. Pre-placement Fit for Duty Evaluation required. SOFT SKILLS Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
